TOWARDS A QUANTUM FUTURE, TOGETHER

Quantum technology holds transformative potential for communications, computing and cybersecurity. Realising this potential requires sustained collaboration across borders. 🤝 🌍

As Singapore and Japan mark 60 years of diplomatic relations, I was honoured to sign Singapore's first quantum-specific Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with Japan's Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy Ms 小野田紀美事務所Onoda Kimi. 🇸🇬 🇯🇵

This MOC deepens quantum cooperation across eight key areas:
1️⃣ Quantum research and innovation
2️⃣ Academia-private sector interactions
3️⃣ Education and talent exchange
4️⃣ Security policy
5️⃣ Standards and governance
6️⃣ Shared research infrastructure
7️⃣ Commercialisation and use case development
8️⃣ Private funding initiatives

We also witnessed Singapore start-up Entropica Labs and Japanese start-up Yaqumo sign an MOU to collaborate on quantum computing hardware and software development.

These partnerships can strengthen our quantum research capabilities, foster talent development, and position Singapore as a trusted quantum innovation hub as we work to unlock quantum technology's transformative potential. - Jo Teo
